Azerbaijan’s national gastronomy team delivered a strong performance at the 1st International Chefs Championship (Alimentaria 2026) held in Barcelona, Spain, earning a bronze medal.

The country was represented by a national team formed by the Azerbaijan Culinary Specialists Association with the support of the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In line with the competition format participants were required to prepare two dishes - a starter and a main course. Performances were evaluated by an international jury based on established criteria.

Alongside Azerbaijan, teams from Spain, Italy, Portugal, Morocco and Romania took part in the championship. The judging panel consisted of internationally certified culinary experts representing various countries.

Supported by the World Association of Chefs’ Societies (WorldChefs), the championship was held within the framework of the international "Alimentaria" food exhibition - widely regarded as a leading platform that brings together key players from the global gastronomy industry.
